Our Visit To The Good Shepherd Home

Our class went to The Good Shepherd Home. I really enjoyed visiting them. I performed two pieces of music on the recorder. One was called Gavotte and the other was called Ding Dong Merrily On High. After that we gave out presents and we sat and talked with them. I really enjoyed visiting The Good Shepherd Home. It was so much fun!!!

Haiku Poems

A haiku is a type of poem. Haikus have to have 5 syllables in the first line, 7 syllables in the second line and 5 in the last line. These are some haikus l that I wrote about seasons.

SUMMER

The blossoms open.
The birds are chirping sweetly
because Summer's here.

AUTUMN

The leaves fall from trees
and they journey close and far
dancing as they go.

WINTER

The snow is falling.
It is getting very cold.
Trees are turning white.

SPRING

The flowers open.
The little blue birds are chirping.
The air smells so sweet.

Emotions Poems

We have learnt about Emotions poems. Emotions poems are poems that are written about feelings. The first line is the colour of the feeling. The second line is what it tastes like. The third line is what it smells like. The forth line is what it looks like. The fifth line is what it sounds like and the last line is what it feels like. This is a Emotions poem that I wrote.

HAPPINESS

Happiness is yellow.
It tastes like ripe strawberries.
It smells like the sweetest flowers.
It sounds like the chatter of happy people.
It feels great!

Free Verse Poem

This week our class learnt about different kinds of poems. This is a free verse poem that I wrote.

THE ALLEY CAT

The alley cat prowls the street
on every moonless night.
The padding of his feet
is almost silent.

The alley cat prowls the street
on every moonless night.
"Let me in" he cries
at every door he passes.

But every one's too smart for him!
He shreds the carpet .
He tears the furniture.
He leaves a mess wherever he goes.

The alley cat prowls the street
on every moonless night.
All alone.
himself is all he's got.

A Network Of Friends

This is a poem I wrote about friends.

Friends
Friends are fabulous, fantastic and fun
Rare to find a really true one
I think friends are important, inside and out
Every day with friends is exciting, no doubt
Never ending friendship is the best gift ever
Dear friends are like diamonds, a dazzling treasure
Super, shining, sparkling, stars-THAT'S WHAT MY FRIENDS ARE

IT'S TERM 4!!!!!

This is the start of term 4.
This term we are learning about shape poems. I have written a shape poem about cats. This is what I wrote:

Cats are cute cuddly creatures. They meow when they are hungry and and purr when they are content. At night they chase and pounce on their prey. When morning comes they sleep all day. Cats are cute cuddly creatures. Meow! Meow! Meow!

Science Investigation

My class is holding a science fair this term. My investigation is about which oil burns the slowest. In class a group of people did an experiment on surface
tension. We managed to get 123 paper clips in a cup before we broke the surface tension.
